A day in the life of Ellie

Well almost two weeks old and not much has happened. As normal babies do, Ellie eats, sleeps and poops. She has gained her birth weight back and then some. We are on our way to having a little chunker on our hands. Below is a picture of her now. Compared to what she looked like when we first brought her home she has developed her daddy's chubby cheeks.
This is Ellie's most common sleeping face. Just like her Grandpa, she likes to sleep with her tongue sticking out.
She always keeps us laughing also. I have included a video of her most common sleeping habit. This is Ellie trying to push out her gas as she sleeps. Sorry folks, couldn't get the actual flatulence on the video.

The birth of Elena Michelle!

Little Ellie has finally arrived! She was born December 19, 2008 at 6:21pm. She was 8lbs 4oz and was 19.75 inches long. After 23 hours of labor that was putting too much stress on Ellie, they decided that it would be best to get her out as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, that meant a C-section. After the third time her heart rate dropped and 6 doctors rushed in and were injecting me with medicines to help get her heart rate back up, I agreed that it was the best option as well. After 23 hours I was only 5 cm dilated, but the contractions were coming every minute and a half. I was really scared, that I was going to lose her so it was a relief when they finally were able to get her out. Here is a picture of Dad holding her as soon as she was born. We were able to go home last night and try to get some rest. She slept for almost 3 hours during the night which was a relief, but I had a hard time sleeping because I needed to make sure she was still breathing. She is usually only awake for about 1- 1 1/2 hours at a time and the rest is sleep time, which is nice. We'll see how sleeping goes tonight though.
Here's Ellie sleeping in her bed.

Here's Ellie enjoying time with her new cousins.

Officially 9 months and still no baby!

Well the due date has come and gone and still no baby. Here is the final picture of me at 9 months. I can't take any more because I can't stand to look at myself so huge! Hopefully in a few days she will be out and I will be on the long journey to get my body back.

I had to go for another ultrasound and non-stress test today. I apparently was having some mild contractions, but couldn't feel them. The baby is just perfect in her little home so if my body isn't ready to deliver then they are going to let her stay a little longer. I've included a picture from the ultrasound today because they told us that she has a lot of hair. It may be hard to see, but the arrows are pointing to all her hair floating around her head. She'll be hairy, just like mom and dad.

Wish me luck that the next time I post we'll be welcoming her to the world!

The finished product

Finally, the baby's room is finished! With only 2 weeks left I feel relieved that I don't have to worry about it anymore. Brian wanted me to point out that he made the curtain rods and the holders. He's so proud! They turned out really nice too!
Here's another picture of me looking thrilled because Chloe has decided to make her new bed my belly.

My how you've grown

This picture is by request of Uncle Zak. I certainly look a lot different from the last time you saw me! There are only 4 weeks left. I'll take another at 9 months. Hopefully I won't be too much bigger!

The Baby's Room

As requested here are some pictures of the baby's room. The room isn't completely finished. I'll post more pictures as soon as it is. Sorry to the people who think there needs to be more pink in the room, but it is just too cute to ruin with pink!!
