My First Snow

Well this time the weather men were right. We got about 7 inches of snow here and in the middle about an inch of ice. For those of you who live in the warmer climates here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

The snow was coming down heavy this morning.

I think our driveway is there somewhere!
The damage is finally done. Where'd the pool go?

I put Ellie in her snowsuit and headed outside. She didn't want to wake up for her first snow.

I finally got a great picture of her awake and always with that tongue sticking out!For those of you haven't heard the update on the acid reflux, I took Ellie to have her chest X-ray on Monday. The doctor called yesterday afternoon and told me that they found haze in her lungs. They aren't quite sure what the haziness could be. It looked consistent with a viral infection, but she is showing no other signs of being ill besides her cough. Just to be safe the doctor is sending us to a pulmonary specialist at Children's hospital. We won't get an appointment until the end of this week or early next week. I'll keep everyone posted on what we find out. The doctor didn't sound too concerned about this so we are keeping our cool until more tests are run.

Up to our ears in poop! Literally!

Well our lives have been disrupted a bit. We've were forced to move out of our house due to having no sewer line at all. This past weekend our basement toilet and the main drain in our laundry room backed up. We thought it was just a fluke and everything would return to normal the next day. Well we were dead wrong. Sunday morning we returned to the basement to check on the drain and there was raw sewage all over the floor. It was so disgusting!!

So we packed up the dogs, the baby and ourselves and moved in with my mom until was fixed. I never knew how difficult it is to pack for a baby until now. Now I know what to expect for our first vacation in June.

We come to find out that our sewage line had busted because it had frozen solid for 30 feet of the line. Of course our luck another expensive fix to a house we've only been in a year. The people could not come out to fix it until today. Thank God it didn't take all day and we can finally return our lives to the normal routine.

On a happy note, below are some new pictures of Ellie. We also went for our 1 month visit this week and she is now 9 lbs 10 oz and 21.75 inches long. She is in the 65 percentile in growth. That news made me happy. At least she isn't short like me yet. The only issue the doctor could find is that she might have a little GERD. The cough before her cry is what led the doctor to believe this. We have to give her baby Prevacid every morning for a week. If this helps then we just keep her on it until around 6 months. Otherwise we have to go for a chest x-ray next week to see what else could be causing her weird cry. (I just thought it was normal) I'll keep you posted on her status.

Daddy made me cover her up. He was worried about the weirdos out there and that the picture may come back to haunt her if she ever runs for office!

Cold Weather!

With the cold weather coming I thought I'd try out Ellie's snow suit to keep her warm. Here is a picture with grandma. I can't believe she's almost outgrown this too! Let's hope the cold weather doesn't stick around long because she won't have any winter clothes that she can fit in!
As you can see, Ellie's reaction to the suit is to stick her tongue out. She's becoming such a little ham!

Tummy Time

Ellie is very strong for her age. She's able to pick her head up and hold it for short periods of time. I'd thought I start Tummy time a little early, but of course she just lays on the pillow and doesn't try to pick herself up at all. Here are pictures of her on her tummy time mat and pillow.

If you can see her in the sleeper above, she's just about grown out of all her newborn clothes. She's growing like a champ and will be in 0-3 month clothes by the end of the week! They grow up so fast!
