Updated Pictures

Sorry I am a little overdue on posts. I went back to work this week and I haven't had time to work on my blog.
Ellie went for her doctor's appointment with the pulmonary specialist today. We also had a chest x-ray. We were hoping this was the last time we had to see the doctor, but unfortunately she still has 'streaks' showing up in her lungs. The doctor didn't want her exposed to any more radiation so soon, so we are going to wait before we have a CAT scan. He says he is more inclined to think she caught a viral infection at the hospital at birth and it is just taking a long time to clear itself. However, if we go back in June and the next chest x-ray still shows 'streaks' she will have to be put under for the CAT scan to make sure she doesn't have a lung disease.

At the appointment today we found out she is now 11 lbs and 14 oz and almost 24" long. She's grown so much in just 2 weeks!
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Dog Days of Play

Ellie is starting to notice the dogs. She watches them walk by her and reacts to their sounds.
Below is a picture of Ellie laying next to Rachael. We don't know which one looks happier! Don't worry Rachael's paw actually never touched Ellie, but it looks like she is petting her!
Ellie has finally found her hands and it looks like she is definitely a righty. She has figured out how to use her hands to set off her bouncy seat. She hasn't mastered the grab yet, but she definetly knows what to do with them.

Below is a video of her using her hands to play in her seat.

2 month Check up

Ellie went for her 2 month checkup today. The doctor says she is doing great and is very strong for her age. She weighed in at 10.15 lbs and was 23" tall. She also had to get her immunizations today. She was actually very good and only cried for a minute or two. She's been sleeping most of the day and cries a little when we change her diaper. Hopefully she sleeps through the night tonight. The past two nights we've been blessed with a full night of sleep!
Here is a picture of Ellie this morning before the doctor's appointment sitting up in her chair.

More Playtime and Dr. Update

Ellie has been staying awake for hours at a time now. She likes to play on her mat and we even caught her trying to rollover in her bed the other morning. She is just growing and progressing so quickly. Below is a video of her talking to herself in the mirror. It was so cute!

Ellie had her Barium swallow test on Monday. She was really good even when she didn't get any food for 4 hours. The only thing the doctor saw was a little reflux. They had to do a little more in depth look at the x-rays, but nothing concerning was found. We have to see the pulmonary specialist again on March 10th and have another chest x-ray done, but it looks like she is okay and will eventually grow out of the reflux. What a relief!

Bathtime and Dreams

Ellie has began to really enjoy bathtime. She has figured out that she can drink the water in the tub by sticking out her tongue and licking it. Below is a video of her in the bathtub.

Ellie also dreams a lot and grunts and sighs in her sleep. We've become immune to these sounds at night, but they are just too cute. Below is a video of her dreaming.

P.S. Ellie finally slept through the night! I woke up at 4:30 in the morning because she hadn't woken me up to be changed. I hope this continues!

Update on Dr's Appointment

Ellie and I saw the pulmonary specialist last Friday. After waiting for 2 hours to see the doctor, we still have no definite news. We have to have an additional test run to rule out other issues. We have to have a Barium swallow done on Monday and this will help to rule out an esophageal fistula. If it happnes to be this, the good news is that surgery will be able to fix it. The worst case scenario is that it could be a lung disease. Let's hope that it is not that!
After the test on Monday we go back in three weeks to see the doctor and have another chest x-ray run again. Hopefully that x-ray will come back with nothing on it.
I'll keep you updated as we find more out.
Sorry no new pictures. I will try to post more as soon as possible.

Play Time

Ellie has been staying up a lot more during the day. She has actually starting noticing items and starting to play with them. Below is a video of her figuring out if she lifts her legs she can make noise hitting the rattle with her feet. She gets frustrated very easily, but is starting to get very strong ab muscles.

Here is Ellie sitting in her rocking chair. Isn't she cute!

P.S. Ellie's doctor appointment with the Pulmonary Doctor is scheduled for this Friday. I'll update the blog as soon as we know anything.
